Great every day vacuum/mop for the price
I have used this vacuum/mop for the last 10 days, having it vacuum nightly and mop twice per week. Overall it performs very well, the noise level is tremendously quiet and my favorite feature by far is the Freo Mind cleaning setting. This setting will dynamically change cleaning settings as your robot works based on numerous factors. This allows you to select a cleaning setting like Mop, Vacuum, or Vacuum then Mop (among others), then let the product dynamically handle whatever situation comes up during the cleaning process. The only knock I have is that the robot struggled to clean underneath cabinets in the kitchen because it coudn’t extend the mop brushes to reach the edges of the cabinet, and I also noticed a couple of times during mopping runs where it would miss sections of the floor. However this wasn’t consistently happening and overall my floors looked phenomenal and it feels amazing waking up every morning with a clean house and being able to see exactly what the robot cleaned on the app.

with flaws
first week i really liked the narwal. it was quiet, easy to clean and use, mapping made sense. i have 3 dogs (including a very fluffy husky) and a cat and it seemed to handle fur quite well. plus it mops! its quite good at avoiding objects and cables on the floor.its been almost a month and now its very loud and makes rattling noises. the suction itself is still quiet and the tangle free brush is as advertised, however the little wheel is not fur friendly at all. for the number of animals, i don’t feel that the dust bin makes any sense in terms of capacity (i previously owned a Roomba s9+) so i feel the tangle free brush was wasted. finally, my house is tile one story with less than 2k sq feet that i mop. the water tank has to be changed 1-2 times to complete the job. it has mop drying function but the mops still have the mildew smell.i wanted to love this Roomba replacement but the way its functioning feels like i have already had it for years. i will unfortunately be returning this and hoping that the next model will be more reliable.

Indispensable; effective; easy
Hello, freedom. As with anything, read & follow directions; pay attention to maintenance which is easy. This was simple for me from the start. We have no carpet or rugs but do have Chilewich woven (plastic) ‘rugs’ in kitchen, kitchen dining/den on the hardwoods. Our home is what one call high end, modern, & an expensive build and furnishings, no clutter, no cords, an occasionally a left out dog toy but Narwal figures it out. Narwal even gets dog hair near baseboards and kick plates in kitchen due to its good suction. The low profile of the machine fits under lots of the furniture and does not damage baseboards or Western Windows that extend to floor. Tip: Using ‘vacuum AND mop’ instead of ‘vacuum THEN mop’ is NOT recommended by me because I wasn’t satisfied with the occasional dog hair strands left behind in that mode. Use the THEN mode. We have a mini-Australian shepherd Customize room assignment so that areas are done overnight without tank running out of water. I spend like 5 minutes checking tanks and checking area before I run it overnight. Once I had my rooms/zones customized, the App is so easy that I pick and choose what I want it to run overnight PRN but you can easily set up a schedule. The app is not cluttered and depends on icons but its quick to learn. I found that using my iPad made customizing the zones/rooms easier than doing it on my iPhone due to screen size but use the phone app for everything else. This is saving my back and saving me time. We had to set zones so that the dog does not hear it around the stairs or bedroom door and bark but NP, still saves so much effort and no housekeepers that ram windows and baseboards and furniture needed. Narwal is easier and cleaner than housekeepers. I love this!

A great Robot Vacuum and Mop
I originally bought this because we have a lot of pet hair from a dog. We were tired of vacuuming every day manually. We bought this because it claimed a tangle free experience. It very much is a tangle free experience. We have the Narwal vacuum every night and we only have to change the dust bag every three weeks, even with a very hairy dog! The mopping does very well with the rotating mop heads. Sing the suction is great we wake up to clean floors every morning.

Love my Narwal, Great product!
I live in a 2,001 square foot home and there is no area off limits for my robot to go help clean carpet and vinyl floor. It does a great job of cleaning (better than I care to myself) and I never feel like I have to go behind the vacuum to spot clean. Self clean features are a plus, because who has time for all that?I like the options to change suction power (but a nuanced thing for me I’d like the high power to be default). The robot seems to navigate things fairly well too.The app is easy to understand and use, would like to see more options, for example I want 2 areas cleaned but don’t want the whole space cleaned, I have to run it once and then again with the new area. I should be able to schedule tasks on the fly. (There is a schedule option) and maybe that is the best way to go about it.But I’d like to set up task 1 then 2 after vs schedule permanent set up, floors spaces don’t get dirty at the same rate.Staying the obvious- is you’d want to pick up smaller things off the floor so they don’t get grabbed by the vacuum.

We love our Narwal
The media could not be loaded.
My kids have renamed our Narwal WallE and completely accepted it as a part of our lives.First, we have 3 adults, 2 kids, 3 dogs (including a Great Dane) and 2 cats all under one roof. Our dogs shed like crazy even with brushing. So you can imagine the hair build up we get in the corners and the dirty track marks throughout the house as everyone just lives their life. Unfortunately, all that comes at the cost of cleanliness, at least when it comes to our floors. We tried to keep up with it but life happens. Thankfully we now have Narwal AKA WallE, lol.We try to have it going once a day/once every other day and it has helped tremendously! I need you to understand the relief I get coming downstairs first thing in the morning and having a clean floor, It. Feels. Incredible! The Narwal IS VERY expensive but if you can afford it, it’s so worth it. Check for sales too, I got mine at a discount.

So close to being amazing, but it’s not
This robot does many things well. Of all the robots we’ve had, it’s the quietest. It cleans really well, and the form factor is better than most. But, it has a couple flaws that are deal killers. Tech support was helpful in trying to resolve the issues, but in the end, they were unable to fix them. We went through two of these robots trying to find a solution to the mapping issues, but never did. Over the two months that we had these, we kept having issues with the mapping; it would refuse to vacuum rooms periodically (it would enter the room, look around for a minute, then leave without vacuuming and it would say it had completed the job). It would do well for a week or two at a time, then it would stop tending to various rooms and we’d have to solve it by re-mapping the house. Re-mapping would sometimes solve the issue, but often times it would require a few tries at re-mapping until the robot would decide to clean all the rooms. It is also quite poor at object avoidance, most notably: cat food & water bowls. It would respect no-go zones which was a fine solution…until we had to re-map the house which deleted the no-go zones. We had many occurrences of re-mapping, forgetting to add back the no-go zone, and then the robot would knock over cat food and then smear it all over the room. Such a stinky annoyance! The last time he did that was the last straw and this robot got returned. While it does many things wonderfully, it does have fatal flaws and so it has earned the 3-star review. If you happen to be lucky and not have the mapping issues that both our robots had, I bet this robot will be your favorite robot ever…just like it almost was for us.

Perfect Addition to My Cleaning Routine
I’ve been using the Narwal Freo X Ultra for a few months now, and it has been a fantastic addition to my home. It handles my daily floor cleaning effortlessly and navigates around obstacles with perfectly. This is what I’ve been waiting for robots to do. I used to have an old robot vacuum that just bounced around and required lots of hair detangling, and it was more effort to maintain than to just vacuum everything myself.I live in an apartment with a pretty simple layout, and the Narwal does a great job covering all areas. I did have to set a no-go zone for a flimsy rug that it tends to get stuck on, but that was easy to do. One tip: make sure to keep strings and small tangle-prone items like cat toys out of its way to avoid any issues. The self-cleaning mop feature is a game-changer and saves me a lot of hassle. Plus, it operates quietly (the mop, vacuum is a little louder), so it doesn’t disturb my daily routine.Overall, I have no complaints. The Narwal Freo X Ultra is reliable, efficient, and worth every penny. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a smart and effective cleaning solution!

I LOVE this thing!
This unit is absolutely great! I love it – it’s worth the price!I was skeptical of a vacuum mop combo. First I bought the little Freo X Plus and a separate mopping only unit. I was really disappointed in the mopper and I wanted more suction than the X Plus. My old Roomba didn’t do mapping, so that part was new to me also. All I can say is, I love the mapping feature and being able to send or schedule it to do just the kitchen, etc.

No Regrets!
Love how quiet this vacuum is! I work from home and would have to pause my old vacuum during calls just so I could hear. Then it would die so it never completed the job. Now I don’t even realize the Narwal is running. I also love how fast it maps the whole house, my house is 2800sqft and it mapped it all, pretty accurately too, in about 5-10 min. This is my first robot mop, I was skeptical of buying other brands before based on reviews, but this one is great! It’s not a deep scrub but enough to get the top layer of grim until I can do my own mopping. I have 2 big dogs, 2 cats and between my hair and my daughters, there is hair everywhere. The vacuum gets it all. I honestly have zero complaints about this purchase. I do wish Amazon would price match though, I bought it and then 2 days after unpacking and setting it up, it was $50 cheaper. Not a lot but enough to buy more mopping solution! They said I’d have to pack it up, return and repurchase to get the savings. Obviously not worth all that, but something I wish Amazon would change.

Super smart, very effective, flexible settings, rather flawless thus far.
I got this robot just yesterday afternoon but already set up and vacuumed and then meticulously mopped the entire main floor of my home (About 1650 square feet of hardwood with some low pile area rugs). Unpacking and setting up was a breeze, really. I have a Deco mesh WiFi router for my home that can connect at 2.4 or 5 ghz and I basically ignored the Narwal app warning that stated that I should set my router to connect only at 2.4 because I know the Deco router will automatically adjust to the device it is connecting to and connect at whatever frequency band the device is capable of. I connected first try and have had nothing but flawless connect performance since that time. The mapping process went smoothly and it took about 15 to 20 mins. Of course I first walked around and made sure that I got rid of anything on the floor that could snare the little robot, like cords and dog toys and floppy shopping bag handles (in the pantry). I also moved a couple of four legged stools temporarily just to give the little robot the best chance of flawless success because I knew that accurate mapping is key to the continued success of the cleanings. No biggie, i put the stools back after mapping was finished. After mapping, i perused the map and made a few minor changes: I renamed the rooms (from room1, room2 etc) to dining room, living room, etc. I merged two rooms into one and I also split a room into two rooms, (and renamed again) because the robot saw what I considered two rooms as only one contiguous space. You run into this nowadays because so many homes have large open floor plans where, for example the kitchen flows into the living room and dining room. I did this because I anticipated that it would help to have rooms split up like this because although they are part of one contiguous space, they differ vastly in the amount of traffic and dirt they get. Then i further edited the map details to tell (for each room) what the floor surface was and how meticulously i wanted that room cleaned, etc. I think this is an important step if you want the optimum results although it is probably not strictly required for you to do so. Then I sent the little robot off on its tasks and just watched. I had it vacuum the whole main floor first followed by a mopping (after a nightime recharge). I quickly realized that the little robot did not need my supervision and went about my own business only checking in on it a few times an hour. I also checked and changed the dirty water and refilled the clean water once during the mopping of what was about 1600 sq feet. The water was filthy looking and the floors look great. From this point on I will set a vacuum and mopping weekly schedule and I trust that the floors will be clean without the tedious work of mopping and vacuuming myself. Love it! Highly recommend this robot!

Fire, Ash and My Mop Helper
Lived through the Airport Fire with no damage, and weeks later the winds picked up and the ash blowing into the yard and drug into the house is a nightmare! Not sure what I would do w/out Narwal. Using ~3 times a day and it’s helping tremendously! Works day to day, but this? The help is insane!! I only hope my pads and cleaner holds out because it’s getting pricey with as much as I need it right now

The best I’ve owned if I didn’t care about operating costs
I have owned all models of Roomba vacuums and two of their mopping units. I have also owned one from Shark. The Freo X Ultra outperformed all of them by a longshot. Truly a great unit out-of-the-box. However, once it is time to replace something the parts are hard to come by. Narwal replacement parts (the cleaning liquid and the main brush) were not available on amazon and the brush was not available on the product website. I ended up buying an off-brand generic. The parts looked much the same but don’t function same. Hair, which had never tangled before (I live with three women with long hair and two Australian shepard dogs), now tangles every time it runs. Narwal should provide good replacements where it sells product–like here on Amazon. The cleaning liquid was nice, but ran out in a couple weeks of daily use. $30 a bottle? $30 every two weeks? That’s a joke right?I also use the solid dust bin, though it is NOT recommended for normal use. But my bags filled up in less than a week with all the hair my family produces. $20 for three bags? Another joke, right? No way I’m paying that. Finally, I got fed up with the poor performing after-market brush and ordered one from the us.narwal.com website. $40 (27.00 + 9.00 shipping + tax) later I have one in route. But another joke? A pretty simple piece of plastic I’m now worried about replacing.Summary:- Fantastic (when new) for hair not tangling- Easy-peasy to change old water, new water, and to clean the base.- Vacuum is 5 star- Mopping is 5 star- But you need to get a second job to afford replacing accessories–if you are lucky enough to find them in stock.Anyway, the unit works fantastic, and I would be a lifelong customer if they didn’t try to rip you off with replacement parts. Sorry, but I won’t buy this brand again and that makes me sad. Operating costs are close to $50 every two weeks. I don’t know how often you have to change the brush, but that is another $40 every couple of months–so averaging that cost in brings it to around $30 a week to operate… Yikes!I should add that I save a bit by not using the cleaning fluid and by using the hard dustbin–but here again the aftermarket filters are crap and vacuum strength degrades quickly.Update: Seller (Narwal) contacted me. They passed suggestions on to product team and offered to send me a bottle of cleaner and mop heads. Nice gesture, but unfortunately doesn’t change the situation. Guess I can add a star for customer service. Even if expensive, all replacement parts need to be available…

Great
So far so good. This robot works great with both vacuuming and floor washing. I had a roomba for years both vacuum and separate floor washer. Decided to try this all in one vacuum and it’s working great. It’s on the large side and I was little surprised but it tucked away in a corner just right. Cleans well according to the dirty water I emptied. I’d recommend it.

My Floors Are Doing a Happy Dance!
As a robot floor cleaner veteran (seriously, been there, done that!), I gotta say NARWAL has been my mopping BFF since 2021. Their whole “clean like a human” thing with DirtSense checking the dirty water and the mops that practically wash themselves with cleaning solution… well, it just makes my cleaning life sing! But you know what wasn’t singing? My old auto empty robot vacuum. With three long-haired pups leaving tumbleweeds of fur everywhere, and my forgetful robot buddy kept bumping around and forgetting the map. But I held onto it for the auto-empty feature, even though it drove me a little nuts, as it allowed me to dump every few weeks.Enter the FREO X Ultra, and let me tell you, it’s a GAME CHANGER!ProsSayonara, Sucking Power Sorgen! This little rockstar has 8200 Pa of suction, which means bye-bye fur, dirt, dust bunnies – the whole gang! It’s got this compression dustbin/bag thing (fancy, right?) that lets you store all that debris for approximately 7 weeks (with 3 fur monsters, 4-5 weeks might be realistic, but still AMAZING – can’t wait to find out). The addition to adjust the coverage overlap is superb! Oh, and the bin even dries itself out.Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow (and the Day After, and the Day After That…) Those tangled hair nightmares are a thing of the past! The FREO X Ultra has a double-certified zero hair tangling roller brush with a single mount. Basically, your cleaning dreams have come true!Double the Dustbin, Double the Fun! This awesome machine has a dustbin that’s twice the size of its predecessor, or you can use disposable dust bags for super easy disposal.Super-Smart Navigation, No More Bumpy Blues! The upgraded navigation system with fancy lasers and object detection means the FREO X Ultra glides around your home like a boss, dodging furniture and cleaning everywhere it goes.Cleaning Your Way! The FREO Mind app lets you pick exactly how you want your floors cleaned. Want a quick vacuum and mop? Done! Deep clean with vacuuming first? You got it! You can even customize the cleaning for each room – pretty snazzy, huh?Mopping Magic Continues! NARWAL didn’t forget about what makes them amazing – mopping! The FREO X Ultra keeps your floors sparkling with automatic mop washing and adjustable warm air drying.Their support team shines as well, offering assistance well beyond the warranty. They still assist with issues on every machine they’ve released!OverallThe NARWAL FREO X Ultra is basically a party in a robot for your floors! It tackles pet hair, mops beautifully, remembers your house, and pretty much takes care of itself. Sure, it costs a bit more, but for someone who wants a high-tech, low-maintenance cleaning champion, this is the real deal!#Narwal #narwalrobot #narwalfreoxultra

If I could give this 10 stars I would
I NEVER write reviews and we get Amazon deliveries multiple times a week. But this is an exception. After dealing with less quality robot vacuums so glad we took a chance on this. We have 4 inside dogs, all shed terribly. This device picks up all the hair, mops perfectly, maps the house perfectly, and is quiet. Highly recommend. Worth every penny.

The tech has advanced to the point everyone should have one
The media could not be loaded.
This product is great. I chose it over competitors because you do not need to buy their vacuum bags (it comes with a reusable container). You also don’t necessarily need to use their detergent – that does limit you to water (but you can just spray the floor in advance if you feel you need a cleaner). It maps quickly and accurately. Suction is great. The App could use a few tweaks but is perfectly fine. And— you CAN use it on multiple floors. Either remap so that it can use the AI dirt sense and edge capabilities to their full extent. OR, create a secondary map and carry the robot to the other floor. We have had no brush tangles in a house of six dogs and I have long hair that sheds a lot. The mop cleaning tray design is easy to clean. You can plumb the system into your plumbing so you don’t need to add or empty the water tanks manually if you really want to. At that point you’d be virtually maintenance free for weeks and weeks. I do hope Narwal edits the mopping to allow us to mop entire rooms on the second floor even if it means the mop water won’t be changed mid-way through the room. I also hope they edit the app to allow for AI dirt sense and the AI edge capabilities on secondary maps. I have had NONE of the issues I read about in my research in terms of the robot navigating – it’s near perfect frankly. My floors have been immaculate since it came – including under my beds and couches. I can schedule tasks such that I wake up to clean floors. It does not discharge the dust into the base station, but I much prefer how it compacts the dust in its interior and also dries the dust. Base stations that have dust vacuums increase cost, increase cleaning, increase size of the base station, and tend to smell. Finally, it’s by far the most stylish of the robot vac-mops. At this point, every home should have one, especially if you have dogs or infants low to the floor, or others with conditions that can benefit from dust and allergen removal.

Does what it says
I have been an autumn vacuum owner. I have been a robot vacuum owner for years. I used to buy the best from the other company that starts with R.Aside from that other company is very first model all of their subsequent models have fallen short and literally fallen apart In about a year. I used to buy their moppers and their vacuums. I have a very high traffic household with two big dogs so I really needed extra help with the robot machine. When the last robot died in less than a year, I knew I was In trouble.I shopped for months looking for something that does what they say they’re gonna do. I came across the brand new vacuum that starts with D and tried to buy it, but it was out of stock. It didn’t have a mopper, but I was willing to Just something that actually works properly. Thank goodness it was out of stock because my girlfriend told me about the Narwal.Never heard of it before and I try to do some research. There wasn’t too much I could find but what I did find and other reviews looked promising. I know I could return it if it was Another false promised by robot vacuum company so I sucked it up and gave it a shot. I use the coupon codes and also bought the accessory pack. Here we Are over one month with this machine and I couldn’t be happier.First of all, it’s beautiful. I actually just renovated my home and the color game, the popular white and gray and so this robot matches perfectly with my home. Very clever on the designer part. Functionality is absolutely amazing. The app and the menu system is so easy to use and it connected immediately to my Wi-Fi. I was able to program daily sweep schedules in the middle of the night so I always wake up to a clean floor. Being able to choose the zones where I just want the kitchen swept, for example, is such an awesome feature. And of course, the mopping was the true test and Was simply blown away with this thing my floors I love that it goes home around every couple hundred square feet, depending on what you said it for and it cleans its own pads and it even empties the water and takes in more clean water.Me This machine is a dream come true!!

Worry free cleaning
This is my first robot vacuum and I am blown away. This unit has exceeded all my expectations. It works exactly as in description. Very easy to set up with append also connects to my Alexa . It initially maps all the rooms you want cleaned and then you can edit and adjust the map to your preferences. You can manually thru app tell it to just vacuum or do both vacuum and mop or can set a schedule to run wheneveryou want. Can do one room at a time or all roomsIt self cleans itself if it senses the mop heads needs to be cleaned.Has a little difficulty crossing over thresholds between rooms, but it eventually finds a way. ( My threshold are a little high, so I may get an optional threshold ramp that they sell )Have had unit for about a month, so far very happy. Not sure how long mops will last and not sure how much replacement cost is.It senses stairs and stops automatically before plunging down them. If you want to just vacumn different floors in your house, you just bring the robot down to that floor. If you want to both vacuum and mop, then you obviously need to bring the entire unit down to the floor you want. Not that heavy though so easy to carry. ( just remember to empty water out of bins first to make it lighter ).Unit is very quite when running. Unit will give audio messages and phone notifications ( if turned on ) to notify of any problems.Overall very happy and would highly recommend to anyone interested in obtaining one.

So 1200 sqft cleaning area, turned it on and off it went to map. As i am reading about all the sensors and how it can tell stairs i hear a continuous thump, thump, thump, crash as the robot hurled itself down the basement steps in an attempt to commit suicide. Thankfully it was fine but I closed the door to save it.It continued to tangle itself in the fringe on several of my rugs, and needed rescue.it couldn’t climb the 1/2 in lip to the bathroom, or the same lip on to the bedroom carpet. I bought and installed a tapered threshold and it now manages to climb in with just minor banging.Once it got the place figured out It did a great job!Customer support is 100% USELESS.I asked about adding a room after the house was mapped and was told I had to remap. Not the case. after I installed the threshold the robot told me it had discovered a new room and wanted to know if I wanted it cleaned. Presto. Then I noticed there was a lot of debris and cat hair after the last vacuuming and decided to check the disposable filter bag. it was stuffed all the way into the machine.I contacted customer support, and after 1/2 hour of texting was told that there is no function to alert me when the bag is full. It seems that should be a common thing, since it squawks about everything else thats out of whack. For the money I’d search for a better machine.

This thing has made my life so much better.
I was skeptical that a robovacuum so costly could be worth the price but as long as this thing lasts a long time I can verify…it is. Our sweet Dobby ii makes my life so much easier. I get up every morning to clean floors and I don’t have to think about it. Every 3 days it mops my floors and makes them look great and they feel clean. Our household is my husband, my 2 young children (3 and 8), two big goldendoodles, and myself. I’m not sure who is messier between the husband, the children, or the dogs but this thing handles everything so amazingly I was shocked from the first run. It picks up hair, dog food, mystery crumbs, dirt, dust, everything I’ve thrown at it. The mop will even go back and keep mopping until the sensors deem it clean enough. The app is good and I had no issues connecting or setting it up as well as auto scheduling tasks. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Absolute BEST cleaning robot on the market!
I’ve been using the Narwal Freo X Ultra vacuum and mop for months, and I can confidently say that you won’t find a better cleaning robot on the market. As someone who has previously used the older Narwal Freo and various high-end Roomba models, the improvements in the Freo X Ultra are nothing short of remarkable. With two dogs & two sons in the house, keeping our floors spotless is a challenge . The Freo X Ultra meets this challenge head-on with its impressive suction power and innovative floating brush that effectively guides hair and fur directly into the suction pipe. The Narwal Freo X Ultra offers best-in-class cleaning and ease of use. It boasts 99% particle removal on hard floors, auto wash, dry, and clean functions, and DirtSense technology that ensures thorough mopping. The tri-laser navigation, 7-week dust storage, and Smart EdgeSwing feature for cleaning floor edges make it incredibly efficient. The mop heads tackle tough stains, while the auto station cleaning and dust box drying keep maintenance to a minimum. Certified for high filtration efficiency and antibacterial rate. My Freo X Ultra adjusts mop pressure based on floor type and can be controlled by voice commands. My floors are now cleaner in half the time and with much less noise compared to earlier models.

Amazing !!!
I’m not a specialist in Robotic vacuum cleaners . I’m a retired and I was watching ces 2024 highlights on YouTube and saw Narwal ultra , I’ve had robotic Vaccum cleaners and other kind of vacuums, but they never impressed me did mostly pretend cleaning .what impressed me about it was that it had the capability of mopping, And also vacuuming so I pre-ordered it and got it on the 1st day and it was just amazing that it actually worked and did not pretend to work.My wife, who is a cleaning freak told me that she has never seen her floors this clean ever , and I have had 2 of them for 2 locations. And I’m very satisfied with them, I highly recommend them. I also got there, Narwal s10 cordless and also gifted to my children, and they’re amazed at the cleaning capabilities of both these vacuums. It does not get entangled in hair and mostly avoids any obstacles. It has an app that works flawlessly and many custom options.Highly recommend it !

Best I’ve Seen
I’d already invested in a Roomba Combo J7+, so I can’t say I was excited about buying another robot vacuum. I was an early adopter of the Narwal Freo X Ultra after seeing the news of it coming out of CES as it seemed to address many of the issues I had with my Roomba.Don’t get me wrong, the Roomba is fine robot vacuum, but in particular with the Combo J7+, having to manually refill the cleaner several times in the robot for one cleaning was getting old. In addition, some less than perfect cleanings and other quirks had me wondering if there was something better out there. When the Roomba Combo J9+ came out I was tempted as it sounded like they addressed the manual cleaner refilling issue, but I paused on the expense. With the Narwal Freo X Ultra news, I saw the cleaner refill issue handled along with way better cleaning and I wasn’t disappointed. While there is some periodic maintenance needed, it handles the basics itself. It even sanitizes the mop heads itself after use!The cleaning with the Freo X Ultra is far superior as well. It can automatically clean more if it senses the floor is dirtier. It also is better at edges and generally at picking up things that my Roomba would mysteriously seem to miss.I like the app where it shows me where the Freo X Ultra is on the map RIGHT NOW and what percentage of the job is complete. If I had to criticize anything, it would probably be the seeming lack of indication how much detergent is remaining in the dock, but I have yet to run out of my first bottle so I haven’t really found this to be a problem.I strongly recommend the Narwal Freo X Ultra!

A great upgrade!
I finally got my hands on the Narwal Freo X Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer! I had the original Freo, and while it did a great job, the X Ultra is on another level. The very first thing I noticed was the suction power. My carpets look amazing! They feel cleaner and look revitalized, especially in high-traffic areas. Picking up pet hair from my 3 dogs isn’t a problem anymore, which is a huge relief, and the brush never tangles. The X Ultra shines in the mop area. I can set it and forget it! The floors feel genuinely mopped, and I don’t have to worry about dirty mop water trailing around. The dustbin is another big plus. Emptying the Freo X daily was a pain. The X Ultra’s dustbin is massive, and the disposable bags are amazing. It’s like magic – the robot cleans itself, leaving me with more time. Now, the X Ultra is definitely not cheap—it costs a good bit more than the Freo, But for me, the extra features are totally worth it. My house feels cleaner, and I spend way less time maintaining the robot itself. If you’re looking for a top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop combo and don’t mind the price tag, the Narwal Freo X Ultra is the way to go.

“Rosie” from The Jetsons
Im going to get straight forward to the point. Narwal Freo X Ultra is a great buy and at a discounted price right now, its a no brainer. I grew up watching the Jetsons TV show and always dreamt of having a robot housemaid. Yes, I did name my robot and her name is Rosie 🙂 . The Narwal Freo x ultra/ Rosie is exactly what I needed to keep my floors cleaned while having two dogs who shed constantly. My house never smells like dogs and Rosie keeps the floors, hair and debris free. The only downside is now my kids are getting lazy as she takes away one of their biggest chore. I’m satisfied with the constant updates of new features but I am waiting on more customization options that could help Narwal shoot past the competition. We want more voices, options to make custom sounds and skins to customize her look. so , if you want to take that jump into the robot future , I would suggest starting with the Narwal Freo X Ultra / Rosie. You will not be disappointed

Frickin amazing!
This is my first robot vacuum and I felt like I was taking a gamble buying this during Amazon’s prime day sale since it’s a lesser known brand than something like Roborock, but I’m 1000% happy I went with this machine.I have a heavy shedding Shiba Inu and needed a serious vacuum that can handle pet hair and this thing is absolutely saving my life.I picked this over Roborock because the aesthetics of the machine were better and it seemed to have most of the same features. The machine is really great looking in my home and every time I look at it I’m just like… hi, I love you. HahaI set it to mop/vacuum twice a week at night, and just vacuum twice daily to combat the pet hair. The app took a minute to figure out but I was able to set everything that I wanted to happen.Mopping power is awesome… my floors are SO CLEAN!Bonus that it’s pretty quiet!10/10 recommend.

Outstanding robot!
This is a truly outstanding robot. We’ve had a high-end iRobot pair (vacuum & mop) for many years, and the Freo X Ultra is a quantum leap ahead.Setup was super easy – no problems with WiFi (Google WiFi mesh) or the iOS app. Mapping of our house was super quick and really fun to watch. The robot cleans surprisingly quickly with very little bumping into things. It’s also extremely quiet – I can easily work while it’s cleaning (unlike the iRobot). It also cleans very thoroughly (we have a long hair cat…). The mopping performance is particularly impressive. Our house is all tile and hardwood, and one of the rooms has older tile that is hard to clean – it has not looked this good in many years. There were a couple of areas where it could get stuck – the litter mat and pet food tray, in particular. But those were very easy to designate as no-go zones. On rare occasion it gets stuck under a kitchen chair and needs a quick assist. It does a really good job of working around obstacles (including a sleeping cat), though it will still attempt to consume things like shoe laces. When that happens, it is remarkably easy to clear with the no-tangle brush head. No need to disassemble like with the iRobot.Maintenance is pretty easy with the app providing polite reminders – change out the water every couple days, change the filter bag when it asks, and give it a general wipe down every once in a while (it also asks for this). This robot works extremely well, is quiet and easy to use – 10/10, highly recommend.

The Queen Of Cleaning
We previously owned a Roomba Mop and Vacuum and recently the battery was not lasting and more often than not the robots seemed confused as to where they needed to go.I’ve been following a cleaning influencer on IG and she owned a Narwhal and it made me look it up. I will say it is pricey, though at the time it was on sale it was still out of my budget. Some time later my husband saw I have looked at it and together we looked at the demo videos and we decided to buy the Narwhal. BEST DECISION!It took less than 4 minutes to map the whole floor. The guiding system is exceptional, it rarely bumps into things and does not get stuck. Great suction and easy to use app. This truly is one of a kind and I would buy it all over again.

UPDATE!!! KNOWN issues with docking station – didn’t work out of the box
UPDATE: After Vacuum then Mop didn’t work I was so mad and ready to send it back. Then while I was waiting on a refund label from AMAZON, which still hasn’t arrived (2 days), I tried the vacuum cycle (success!) and the the mop cycle (success!) and then the Vacuum then Mop cycle (IT WORKED!) so for now we are good, and our floors are cleaner than the day we moved in! —– Original review —— Price was expensive, but a friend has one and loved it. So I splurged. Packaging is great, directions are not bad to assemble and get it powered on and set up, and the unit is sexy for a vacuum/mop unit lol. However, the very first attempt to Vacuum and Mop failed. It wouldn’t even start. It said there was no water in the unit, which there clearly was, I did troubleshooting per numerous online recommendations, as well as on the phone with Amazon Support, and nothing worked. No option to replace the unit, just send me a refund after I return it, which means the sale I originally purchased ($400 off) under will be over. $1000 disappointment.

Effortless Clean: The Narwal Freo X Ultra Exceeds Expectations After Four Months of Use
The media could not be loaded.
I’ve had the Narwal Freo X Ultra for almost four months now, and I wanted to share my experience after truly living with it. Not only do I like it, but I absolutely LOVE it!Ease of Use: 10/10The setup process was incredibly simple. The technology, app, and robot are all remarkably easy to use. The only minor issue was a single disconnect, which was quickly resolved on the server side. For nearly four months, it has been a seamless experience.Cleaning: 9/10I purchased this for my hardwood floors, and the mopping and vacuuming capabilities are outstanding. Comparing it to my own mopping, it’s about 90% as effective, which is impressive. It’s been a blissful four months without having to mop or vacuum. While my small, awkwardly-shaped rug occasionally needs hand vacuuming, the Narwal handles it impressively when I let it.Obstacle Avoidance: 9/10The robot navigates my house with ease. I often leave home and return to a spotless floor. It has only gotten stuck three times in about 40-50 runs—once on a low cord, once on a rug corner, and once on a ground outlet cover. This level of reliability is fantastic.Base Station: 10/10The water containers are incredibly easy to empty and refill. The detergent lasts a long time. Cleaning the base station takes just 10 minutes, and I do it once a month at most. Plus, the base station’s design is elegant and unobtrusive, blending in seamlessly with my home decor.Durability: 10/10The mop pads need replacing every 2-3 months. At the three-month mark, I replaced the pads and noticed a significant difference, so I might start swapping them out a bit sooner. I run the Narwal about twice a week, and the side brushes and main brush are still in great condition. The vacuum bag needs replacing monthly due to frequent use, but it’s very convenient to change.Wishlist:I would love to see HomeKit support added. While you can control it with Siri, the shortcuts are limited. I’m envious of the integration Amazon and Google Home users enjoy.Overall, the Narwal Freo X Ultra has exceeded my expectations in almost every aspect. It has made maintaining my floors effortless and efficient. Highly recommended!

Worth It!
I was hesitant to buy this due to the hefty price tag but I had my eye on it for a while. When Prime Day came I decided to take the plunge, knowing I could always return it if it wasn’t meeting my expectations. This replaced another robot vacuum/mop I had that was not nearly as advanced. I love this thing!! It exceeded my expectations and I had done a lot of research! If this works into your budget I say buy it! This makes my life so much easier, cleaning my floors everyday is effortless!! For context my home is a single story, just under 1500 sq ft. I had all hard floors and two area rugs. One area rug is a very thin jute rug and it does get beat up by the vacuum (even my manual vacuum) and the other rug is not shag but it is a thick pile. This vacuum works well on the thin rug and gets surface debris off the thick one, I’m not sure it gets in super deep but I do not mind vacuuming that one a few times a week manually. My home consists of two adults and an active Cavalier King Charles, who does shed. This vacuum handles it all and truly is zero wrap for hair! Hope this helps if you are on the fence. I love this vacuum!!

Best maid ever
I have never had a robo vacuum/ mop so I don’t have much to compare to but I am wondering now why I have wasted so many hours cleaning. This thing is awesome! I love that you can program it to do specific tasks certain days, or have it run the whole house. I have it scheduled for the high traffic areas daily and the rest of the house twice a week. We have animals and it will detect the animal and their toys. It gets close around it but without touching it. The base station does talk which freaked me out at first but we got use to it. It cleans pretty good and I like that it cleans itself. If there are errors or you need to empty the water tank, that is all notified through the app which is nice. I will say if you have multiple transitions, in our house sometimes clumps of fur/hair that was picked up get stuck in the transition strips between rooms so I have to pick that up. It mops pretty darn good; keeping up after two dogs and a cat and two humans. I am very happy with my purchase!

I am in love with this Narwal Freo Ultra floor cleaner (Freo X Ultra)
We have purchased other robotic floor cleaners before and we were happy with them (vacuums, mops, combinations). This baby is at the “ultra” level. It delivers all the extras we didn’t know we needed. The most helpful feature is the fact that it cleans and dries the mop after use making it a truly effortless routine cleaning machine. It is quiet. We run it in the bedroom with the grand baby sleeping. It is home in the corner of the kitchen and keeps our floors looking great. We have hardwood throughout and tiles in the bathrooms. We first tried it on the heavy traffic area by the sliding doors in the kitchen that we expected we would have to manually scrub. It did in fact analyze the dirt level and scrubbed it clean. (we would not have been mad if it couldn’t). The mapping feature is really good. (This is a feature we had trouble setting up with our previous floor cleaner) We appreciate that it is able to identify the rugs and we can request to vacuum just the rug in the room. We appreciate the cleaning solution is inserted to the base station and at first we thought $30 for the solution was expensive but its been 60 days and has not been replaced yet…and we mop the floors a lot. Now we understand and really appreciate the intended design of not having to change it out frequently. It is so easy to keep the floors clean now. It is so helpful. We can go on and on with how happy we are with the Narwal Freo X Ultra. We have used it 60 days now and it delivers as advertised. Highly Recommended. It will bring you joy.

Wow!
I am loving my Freo X Ultra. It does a very good job of cleaning my floors and I am both glad I waited to get a robot vacuum and sad that I didn’t have this sooner! Some of my favorite things about this vac is that it is quiet but the suction can be upped if need be. I also like the dirt sensing feature. My floors have never been cleaner. I’ve had a few Hoover Floor Mate vacs. They do a good job and have great suction, but I am the one who has to do the job. Now with my Freo, I can work on other things like my hobbies or get other chores done while it’s vacuuming and mopping. It has been a time saver! My only wish is that it had come with at least two sets of mop pads so that after use they can be thrown in the washer and a fresh set put on. I ended up buying three more sets of them so that I can switch them out and not have to find things to wash them with in order to have clean ones. The other thing that needs improving is the app. It had quite a learning curve for me. It took me a while to figure out how to find a way to add a map so that I can take my Freo X Ultra upstairs and have it do its job up there. For those of you buying this and looking for that, you need to: 1. Enter the device homepage 2. Find the map icon at the top right, it looks like a tangram 3. Look for tiny words that say map editing> at the top right of the drawer that pops up 4. Click on Map List at top right 5. Click the plus sign and 6. Click new secondary map Note: I did go around and pick up as much as I can such as chairs, trash cans, stools, etc. It can go around them, but I preferred to give it as much freedom to map and therefore vacuum and wash as possible.

LOVE!!!!
This product is way better than the Roomba! I have owned two Roombas, that vacuumed. I purchased this as I really needed something that would mop as well and didn’t want to have to buy another separate device.I was worried that it wouldn’t do a very good job since it was doing both. I know it is kind of pricey, but please believe me it is SO worth it! You can feel how clean the floor is with your hands.I am so incredibly happy! I have two little doggies and being able to run this overnight or when we are away is going to really help us all enjoy a clean house and save me tons of time and stress! Thanks for such a great product!

Manual dust bin disposal
Edited: 5/20/24 (43 days in operation)Pros:-You can select the room and an area to service. (Vacuum, Mop, or both).-Very quiet during all operations-There is volume selection for the voice providing information about the progress or errors.-You can select to mop with detergent, dry or wet. I use the wet for daily use and detergent for when needed.- Do not Disturb mode allows for minimal voices and base station indicators.- Customization allows for each room’s parameters (number of passes, mop, vacuum, etc)- The history shows the areas already cleaned (mopped, vacuumed, or both).Cons:-Slow process time. As an example I select my high traffic area of 780 square feet. It takes 3:05:00 (that’s right 3) hours to just vacuum.-The manual area select is limited (a min and max rectangular size). If your area is larger that the max size, you can’t selectively clean that area. You’d have to wait for the first job and then guess the second location.-Selection of rooms is based on threshold (doorways). My open concept (Living room/kitchen/dining room can’t be easily divided- You can’t select your own cleaning liquid. And on the same vain supplies are required.- Once the area has been mapped, it will have to be mapped again if a rug/furniture has been replaced or added.- Persian rugs with long tassel like fringes are not a candidate for this machine. Tangling is immanent even with the non tangle roller/brush.- Dog hair is still left behind- When selecting multiple rooms, it treats each room individually instead of the most efficient way in my open concept rooms.- There is no way to have multiple mappings of the house. Although I think I can bypass by creating multiple schedules and select rooms that way.- I don’t use chemicals in my house other than vinegar. So the detergent is lost on me. But it is required to operate the machine.- The manual says “do not add your own detergent to the water” Why?- Too expensive for the amount of compromises required from a customerConfusions:- “Family with Pets select” says the robot will adjust the dust bin and dust bag maintenance cycle intelligently. Meaning buy more bags? I can’t see how it will change it’s operation.-There is a furniture selection/location. Their standard sizes do not apply to my situation.-The dining table furniture placement doesn’t show any difference in operations from the initial mapping of the house.- Is the order in which the rooms are selected matter? Looking at the history, it appears the same area has various time operation time with the same task.

Set up and runs like clock work.
I was under the impression that it would circumvent an animal mess on the floor. It does not so beware if you have animals don’t run the vacuum at night.

I love mine but…
I bought one for myself and i absolutely love it. I have a new puppy so i run it everyday and it helps keep up with the dirt, hair, and smells of a puppy. I gave it 4 stars because i bought one for my parents since i love mine so much and theirs came defective. The base station wouldn’t recognize that the water tank was full and installed so the unit wouldn’t work. This was straight out of the box. Instead of returning it for a new one they had us return the base station for them to fix and then send back. That caused about a 2 week delay when a new one could have been shipped to us in 2 days. Kinda annoying. Just got the base station back and seems to be working after figuring out how to reset both the station and the robot so that it would connect to the wifi again.

Narwal Ultra X: The Ultimate All-In-One Cleaning Solution for Modern Homes
The Narwal Ultra X Combo is a standout product in the world of robotic vacuums and mops. It merges both functionalities into a single, well-designed unit. Its aesthetic appeal is immediately noticeable, featuring a beautiful industrial design with a clean silhouette. The user interface is sleek and intuitive, making the user experience pleasant.Assembly and UsabilitySetting up the Narwal Ultra X was a breeze. The water tanks and filters are conveniently accessible and simple to replace, a significant improvement over many other models on the market. As someone who has struggled with the poor battery life of an older iRobot model, I found the Narwal Ultra X to be a game-changer. Its unique features and reliable performance place it in a league of its own.App ExperienceThe initial app syncing and connection process was a bit cumbersome. The app could be clearer about the sequence of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections, which took longer than expected. Once set up, however, the app’s clean design was pleasing. One improvement I’d suggest is allowing the app to use the system’s default font size and adhere to the light/dark mode settings. Additionally, adding a security feature such as Face ID to lock the app would provide peace of mind. I’m uncomfortable with any device accessing my home router without adequate security controls.Performance and FeaturesThe Narwal Ultra X’s performance is where it truly shines. After mapping my house, which features hardwood flooring and several area rugs, I tested it with both vacuuming and mopping. The vacuum noise level is comparable to my old iRobot, but the Narwal Ultra X boasts much higher suction power. It handled long hairs on the floor effortlessly, a particularly impressive feature. This was my first experience with a robot mop, and I was amazed by its cleaning power. It performed on par with the steam mop I typically use, significantly reducing the amount of manual labor required. The floor detergent that comes with it has a refreshing lemon scent, adding to the overall cleaning experience.Innovation and Daily UseCombining a vacuum and mop in a single unit is innovative, especially for someone like me who is new to such advanced robotic cleaning solutions. While robot vacuums are common and robot mops are available, the Narwal Ultra X’s integration of both functions in one device is impressive. Despite the slightly cumbersome product name, the Narwal Ultra X certainly nails it in terms of functionality and convenience.I plan to let the Narwal Ultra X automatically run daily to maintain my floors. After longer use, I may update this review to provide further insights into its performance and durability.Overall, the Narwal Ultra X is a fantastic addition to any home. It offers efficient cleaning and impressive design features that make it a worthwhile investment. To keep the cost down, you just need to buy it when it is on sale.

Life Changing.
I bought my Narwal on sale for Mother’s Day 2024 using a Roomba 980 for almost five years. This is the best cleaning investment I’ve made and waited till now to review to ensure I was completely satisfied with the cleaning results. Also, no more banging into furniture or walls with the millimeter precision of the Freo X Ultra. It vacuums and mops above my cleaning standards. As a retired member of the military my standards are very high! The Narwal Freo X Ultra robot cleans on par with the Roombas vacuum power but at a much lower noise level. The Freo vacuum can run at 4 different power levels, Quiet, Normal, Strong and Super Powerful with the ability to clean the area 1 to 3 times in a single session. Even on the Super Powerful mode of vacuuming it’s less than half the noise of the Roomba 980 with the same level cleaning. I can’t tell you how many times I had to pause Roomba to talk on the phone or to have a conversation. The Freo is so much quieter you’ll wonder if it’s even running. I know, I’ve looked for it several times only to find it cleaning normally.Let’s talk about the climbing mode for a minute. My Freo is used on the downstairs only. So I have enabled the climbing mode to get over obstacles, rug corners, etc. This thing has climbed over a bathroom scale to get to the area behind the scale. Was impressed but now I just pick up the scale to make it easier to clean. The mopping features are just as impressive. With the edge clean mode engaged it will mop to the baseboards with the ability to do multiple cleaning passes. The rotating scrubbing heads clean my floors and leave no trace of dirt or streaking on my tile flooring. The robot will return to the base station periodically to wash the mop heads before continuing the cleaning job. There is no dripping of water from the mop heads. Was worried about running out of the mopping solution so I bought an extra bottle. I’m still on my first bottle of cleaner after two months. This is the only recommendation I can make. Once you run the mopping cycle it’s not necessary to empty the dirty water or refill the clean water but do it anyway. The dirty water will get smelly after a week or so but you can’t smell it till you pour it out.Overall I’m very pleased with the performance and rate it 5 stars, would go higher if Amazon allowed. The App is very intuitive and easy to use and have had zero issues getting it to work. Just a quick note on the authorized replacement parts. While I haven’t needed any replacement parts the authorized replacement parts are a bit more costly than the knockoffs, I highly recommend only using authorized parts when needed. The knockoffs are not usually in the correct tolerances and don’t work well. It’s a get what you pay for type of thing. If you are still on the fence, buy it when a sale is available and save some money too. I know It’s a bit more costly than some of the other models in the robot market but it’s so worth it and makes it easy to maintain my floors. As I stated above you get what you pay for, especially, with the Narwal Freo X Ultra. Love my little robot and it’s abilities, I think you will too.

We have one dog and two cats, and I have been struggling with floor cleaning for years. I used to clean floor every Saturday, but the floor will be full of pets hairs and dirts around Wednesday ish. And every time it takes me at least one hour because I have to vacuum then mop. I also have hardwood floor, carpet, and tiles so every time I have to change the cleaning tool or head. A lot of works on the floor maintenance even though the floor still bothers me as a OCD guy.I used other products such as Xiaomi and iRobot before and honestly it doesn’t work well so I always doubt if cleaning robot really works until the Narwal Freo X. This product is absolutely mind-blowing! Totally saves my life!• smart: it automatically recognizes the floor type and choose the vacuum or mop mode on its own.•vacuum: powerful suction with quite sound control, it’s incredible how easy to dump the trash, just one simple press. Completely amazing.•Mop: so amazing it actually has clean water and dirty water tanks, and robot can wash, dry the mop after the run. It’s completely insane! I am so relieved that I don’t have to wash the mop anymore!• quite: I can’t believe how quite it is, I don’t feel uncomfortable at all with its sound even when I have a zoom meeting.• Easy Use: it’s so intuitive to use and super clear instruction on the set-up. Only takes me 10 mins from opening the package and machine started running. And everything can be done with your phone and it’s honestly super easy, almost zero maintenance except pour the dirty water tank and refill the clean water tank.•Charging: such a fast charge and great battery life, it only costs 20% of battery to completely clean my 900 sqft area.•Design: beautiful design can fit into any type of home, well rounded corner with smooth curve.•Quality: so well made and no any quirky issues whatsoever.•Size: small size that can fit anywhere.I believe some people may have a hesitation about the price as I did in the beginning, but after using for weeks, I am glad I made the correct choice, you got the top quality for this price. And I believe it’s a completely economic choice when it runs for a long term, not only physically and also mentally to have a clean floor without any stress.

After three months, a complete failure.
I absolutely loved this machine for the first three months. It was perfect. It vacuumed and mopped my floors on a schedule. I have hardwood tile and area rugs. I had my mapping completely set up so when it mopped it avoided the area rugs it cleaned meticulously and for a 3700 square-foot house it took hours of work off of me.Recently, it started completely not working. I had not changed any of the settings. It was on the schedule, but all of a sudden it was not cleaning rooms. I asked it to do quick tasks so I could watch it and it would go into a room turn around go back to the dock and it would say it had completed the job when the cleaning had been done. It began to mark all of my room rooms as carpet. Again, I had not changed any settings from the first three months. I contacted the company and they continuously asked me for information email after email asking me to show them pictures or check my settings which I would tell them I did and I was aware of and they suggested that the carpet setting was on so that it would avoid the room completely(which is ridiculous on so many fronts being that the kitchen is tile and it claims it’s carpet). I have been unable to get it to do anything correctly, and I cannot allow it to do it schedule at night since it might mop one of my rugs. (because all of my map settings have been changed to complete carpet and I can’t get it to recognize rug areas.) the company has not been helpful at all, so I am looking at another company that has a new mop and vacuum out with newer sensors and hoping I might do better with that. I loved the machine. I would be happy if they offered to fix it, but the company has been an absolute failure and offered absolutely no assistance rather they just continue to try and send useless emails which I don’t even have time for and suggest that it is my operating error. While in many situations that could be the case, I have checked and recheck my settings to no avail. In one of the photos above, you will see it went into a room and left the room and said task completed and had I not watched it with my own eyes; I would’ve presumed that the room was completed.

easy to use, quite, long battery life, thorough clean
This narwal freo X Ultra exceeded my expectations.First Impressions: I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of the machine and couldn’t wait to put it to the test. Upon unboxing, the setup was straightforward, and the initial mapping of my home was impressively accurate. It immediately showed promise with its detailed navigation and mapping capabilities. One onte, you need to use 2.4G hz frequency wifi. The battery holds up quite well.Cleaning Performance: The suction power of 8200 Pa is incredible, picking up tiny dusts and food residues easiely. The advanced sensors detect dirt accurately and ensure thorough cleaning, even focusing on soiled areas until they are spotless.Mopping Functionality: The mopping feature is equally great. It applies significant pressure to clean effectively, tackles spills and stains with ease. Moreoever, the design of path leaves no area untouched.Navigation and Mapping: The navigation system is highly effective. During the initial mapping, the robot meticulously mapped out my home, including all the furniture. It has never gotten stuck and navigates around obstacles. The ability to create multiple maps for different floors is a bonus.User Interface and App: The app is user-friendly and offers extensive customization options. Watching it work via the app has become somewhat addicting. It’s fascinating to monitor its progress and see how it adapts to different cleaning challenges in real-time.Quiet Operation: One of the most notable aspects is how much quieter the Narwal Freo X Ultra is compared to traditional vacuum cleaners like my Dyson. While the Dyson sounds like a jet engine, the Freo X Ultra goes about its business quietly, even during intense cleaning sessions. This makes it ideal for running in the night time.I highly recommend the Narwal Freo X Ultra to anyone looking for a top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop.

Narwal Freo X Ultra: The Best Vacuum for Pet Owners
I’ve had the Narwal Freo X Ultra for a few weeks now, and I am pleasantly suprised. As someone who has been looking for a good robot vacuum to tackle the task of cleaning up aftermy German Shepherd who sheds all year round, I jumped on the Narwal Freo when I saw it on sale. The tangle free brush and dust bag compression technology was one of the main selling points for me when making the choice.Setup: 10/10The vacuum was incredibly easy to set up. The instructions provided were simple and not convoluted. The enitre experience was pretty much plug and play with the app. The robot did an amazing job of mapping out the floor without me having to remove any furniture.Cleaning: 9/10This works great on hardwood floors, and navigates my rooms leaving no spots left untouched. It is very reliable. The level of control I have using the app on how the robot cleans is great, I can crank up the suction and mop cycle count and make it run when I am not home so that I can return to spotless floors.Base Station: 9/10I love the design. It blends in well with my home decor. The water containers are incredibly easy to empty and refill. The detergent lasts a very long time. It does also have some weight to it.Efficiency: 10/10Dust bags can carry more dirt and debris than I expected. Mops are cleaned thoroughly after every cycle. No tangles of hair or fur!Wishlist:As someone who ONLY uses devices compatible with Apple HomeKit, I would love to see support added in the future. You can control it with Siri shortcuts, but the level of control is limited. While the robot can map multiple floors, it will not work unless the base station is moved to that floor. This can be quite cumbersome as the base station itself is a little heavy.I would like to have more scent options for the detergent. I also feel liike the scent could be much stronger.Overall, the Narwal Freo X Ultra is an amazing and efficient robot vacuum that I would highly recommend to anyone.

Narwal Freo X Ultra Robot vacuum and mop combo
UPDATED below….. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE UNTIL YOU HAVE READ UPDATE BELOW…This is truly a big investment at a thousand dollars (on sale). But I have high hopes. I’ve had it a couple of weeks and I can say – Dang. It’s pretty good. There are a couple of things. First, it doesn’t vacuum quite as well as my vacuum only robot – but its ok. There are lots of settings – so I am going to try a few things. The mop is amazing. At first the dirty water was horrible – embarrassing. I wasn’t expecting it. It actually had to recharge and continue! And I had to add water and dump the dirty water twice! But as “Wally” has been working, the water is less and less dirty. That says to me it’s working and well. I have 1 floor so I don’t have any stair issues. I have about 1600 sq ft – so a small area. My floors look a lot better. No joke. I love that part. The whole unit is pretty big. Be sure to look at measurements. It dwarfs my old robot vacuum with self empty tank. Noise? It’s amazingly quiet on the quiet setting – but it’s not super great at the vacuum part on ‘quiet’ run. Could you run while you sleep. I sure could. It’s only been caught 1x – but my fault – loose cord. It was a bit of trick to get hooked up to my network – but after about 6 tries – all of sudden it decided to link. You MUST have wifi – you can’t run the machine from the base. That needs to change. Also, it talks to you – very quietly. Where I have it, I cannot hear it. It would be nice to log into the app and SEE what it’s trying to tell you – but that doesn’t happen. I did run in the other room and heard the last part of the notice “dirt detected” – Thumbs up. Another thing, you must purchase there floor cleaner. You could get around it trying hard enough, but I am not not tempted enough to do it. There is a scent to the cleaner, but I only smell it when I dump the dirty water bin – I never notice it while/after it is actually mopping. I’m ok with that. I’d rather not have a strong scent. It is kinda funny because the dirty water is gross, but smells great! LOL In my opinion, the mapping was incredibly accurate. Noting my area rugs, where they end and the flooring begins. Impressive. Rarely runs into anything. I am actually really, happy with this purchase. I hope it works for a looooong time. I did have to ask a question – email was the only option to get support. I got an answer – that worked. I am a little disappointed that on the app (I have an android – but sure the Iphone is probably the same) there is an ad strip! Seriously?? I just paid this huge of money for your equipment and I STILL have to have an ad strip on my app?? That’s annoying. It’s a tap/click to purchase refills of stuff. Eh. Honestly, I am still running through all the settings, all the options – like just vacuum, just mop or both. Then there’s mop and vacuum or vacuum and then mop… Over all, I am thrilled to have clean floors. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item – your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. I receive/accept NO free products or discounts that are not available to all shoppers- ever. I am a verified purchaser – not a compensated reviewer. I have been doing honest, trustworthy reviews for well over 25 years with Amazon – posting thousands and thousands of reviews – which have been viewed over 8.2 million times to date. I am NOT a fake reviewer. BOTTOM LINE: I pay for ALL my stuff, just like you do – with hard earned dollars!UPDATED REVEIW 10/13/2024 : I love love the IDEA of this mop. BUT unfortunately, it is an idea that needs more time to develop I think. PLUS one of the biggest irritations is all the ADS that are constantly going on your app – which is necessary to use in the function of your mop. OMG. Its even the ads that will not clear until a certain amount of time has passed before you can access your mop!!! Seriously???? I am SO angry about this. For as much as you pay for this machine – NO ads should EVER harass you! Also, after months of using I am annoyed that there is NO way to remove/delete ‘scheduled’ events! Another thing – once it has started doing a ‘task’ good luck stopping it. You can press and hold the arrow button on the box, but it will start up right where it left off when you send it out again on the previous task! I am currently trying to figure out if it is just a terrible brain chip? OR do I need to hard reset? Is that even possible? What does all this say? It’s NOT intuitive. It’s SUPER difficult to search out what you need it to do and then how to stop what you don’t need it to do. Every time I need to delve into a more complicated process (how to adjust the ‘type’ of clearning ) – I have to go to youtube to get an education on HOW to do it and I end up saying ‘ Wow. I would have NEVER found that.’ I am super super disappointed about the harassing ads that never end. But even more disappointed I have to research everything about it’s function! It took me at least a month to get all the ‘customize’ parts of my cleaning down. Does the vacuum/mop work. Yes. But you may want to kill something in order to get it to work. I would seriously consider returning it if I hadn’t passed the returned window. It is with great sadness that I highly recommend you DO NOT PURCHASE ANY NARWAL products until they address the ads and remove them. Further, they need to go back to the drawing board on how to program a truly intuitive process that doesn’t require a heavy internet search for the solution. And that’s IF there is one.UPDATE #2 11/23/24 They have removed the ads from phone! Hopefully for everyone. They have also been apparently listening to people. They’ve made a few really good improvements on the app. You can easily skip or cancel scheduled events. That is a godsend. It still doesn’t vacuum quite as well as my ol’ buddy irobot 4 – but – Narwal mops. That is game changer for me. I feel like my review is a bit bipolar sounding at this point. I am not. But when you are investing such a large amount of money – I just feel responsible to report as we go along. It appears that Narwal may be listening and adjusting to customers. As long as that is happening – I’m still on board.

Really cleans SMART
Ok, have used this robot for a month. This is my first robot vacuum or mop.1. Most importantly, it REALLY CLEANS, especially the mopping function. It notes a soiled area, increases the cleaning strength and does additional cleaning runs in that area until it is clean.2. The app works FINE. Like any app, you need to use it awhile to get to know all its features. Those who write that it can’t do multiple floors— yes, you can, up to 4 maps. You can move the entire ensemble “upstairs” — or guest house, etc. OR you can carry only the robot itself—but then it can’t go “home” to wash the mop. Or, make 1 map without the base and use it for vacuuming, and another map for moving the whole kit for full service capability.3. Easy to do a quick “ spot” cleaning in a small area that can be sized to the area for a spill etc.4. No problem sharing the app with others. It’s an option in the drop down menu choice in settings5. “No tangle” brush is excellent.6. Great maneuverability with obstacle avoidance. Ok, cables are a problem but really, wouldn’t you move it out of the way if YOU were vacuuming? I can’t speak to the poop issue as I don’t have pets. This robot actually wriggles past the legs of my bar chairs ( a tight fit) to get under and clean. Ditto the dining chairs. It will notice if you moved furniture or any new area and ask to remap it.7. Like all current robots, it can’t fit under some kitchen cabinets due to low clearance— but thanks to LIDAR (no camera) it knows which ones it can fit under and which not. It sashays to get as far as possible under but the edges under those cabinets won’t be reached even by the movable mop arms on other robots ( and moving arms are mechanical and therefore prone to breakage).8. It takes its time but does a better job as a result. Schedule it while you sleep, wake up to clean floors. You can set the levels of cleaning and customize as you wish as well. You can vacuum/mop, vacuum then mop, vacuum alone, mop alone. Designate the whole floor, individual rooms, or several rooms or spot cleaning.9. No, it doesn’t dump the dust into a bigger bag in the bin. So what? By all accounts other robots sound like a jet engine when dumping into the bin in the base unit. Not this robot—-it’s very quiet as it goes about its business. The disposable bags are compressed and last a long time, and there are now cheaper copycat replacements placement bags available already. Or, a small reusable dust bin is provided for the environmentally concerned.10. The detergent is proprietary but you can reuse the empty bottle: separate the cap by inverting it and dipping the cap only into boiling water a few minutes to separate it, then fill whatever ( Bona, etc) you wish. File down the locking plastic bits inside the cap. Details on how to do this can be found via search on Reddit.11. It’s possible to hook up to your plumbing to draw clean water and empty dirty water automatically ( usually where your washer is) so no need to fill and dispose of water, but it’s no big deal to empty and refill the large water bins. Put a little white vinegar into the empty “dirty” bin to retard bacterial growth which prevents the sewage-like smell that some report. What’s not to love? All in all, a great device!

Game Changer!
The media could not be loaded.
Greatest purchase I have made in some time! Over the last few years, I have become more and more unable to do daily tasks around my home due to spine disease from top to bottom. This has been as much an emotional as a physical challenge for me. I am a neat freak. I once owned a commercial cleaning service because I loved to clean, not because I needed the money. A dirty home gives me anxiety. My brother-in-law has a Shark. He is a programmer like my husband and wasn’t happy with the program with the Shark so I avoided that one. He said it mops when it isn’t supposed to and some other things that made me not want to try that version. I have always purchased mostly Shark products when it comes to vacuuming/mopping but with his experience, I decided to go with this brand. Yesterday was the first day trying it out but we were impressed with it immediately. I did get concerned that it wasn’t vacuuming some of the areas because it went into part of our dinette area and then into the other parts of the house before finishing the kitchen but it has now done all of that. You are able to fix this by using the map to number and even name your rooms. You can also split areas so that you have more options on cleaning. It has a map on the app that you can see the 2D or 3D of your home to see where it has actually gone which will also tell you any areas it missed. We have a Shark vacuum that I have had now for over 15 years and never had a problem with it. This vacuum tried to climb the Shark pipe which I found amusing. You can also designate it to go to only one room and do whatever you want with the app. With my husband on calls at different times, I wanted to be able to run it when I want vs a schedule. And guys/gals, it is not loud at all!!So I tried out the mopping mode today and after a few corrective measures (realizing I need to split my open floor plan rooms and where I need to add some fencing for cords, etc) I have to say I was initially concerned it was missing some areas but as it turns out, it does basically an outline of the room and then cleans inside that which makes sense if you have ever colored in a coloring book. lol I do love that it detects a dirtier area and will spend more time cleaning that area. I noticed it spent a lot of time in my high traffic areas, especially where my husband goes through each morning with his cup of coffee to his office, where breakfast is most often spent at the counter or the kiddos’ section of the dining room table that they most often eat.Someone told me that their robot vacuum that mopped would go back to refill the mop water but would try to start over at the beginning each time. I thought mine was going to do that initially but that wasn’t what it was doing. We had a few spots on the hardwood that we purposefully did not clean because we wanted to see what the robot cleaner would do on these spots. TOTALLY took care of them. The app has so many features that are great! You can turn off the mopping solution and just use water (or whatever you put in the water but don’t forget to add that each time you refill the water tank). You aren’t restricted to do anything that you don’t care for on the programming. There are so many great features of this Freo. I am so happy to have gotten this!! It is a little more costly than other robot vacuum/mops on the market but so far, it was well worth the extra cost. I deal with some very extensive pain 24/7 from my spine. Daily tasks can be horrible on me taking me two days to recover from every day stuff for most, like the floors. I’m so happy. I am a bit of a neat freak so this purchase is going to be such a great help for me both physically and emotionally. For those who wanted to know more about my new friend, I hope this helps you!

Some gripes, but mostly in love
I love this thing. It is the best robot vacuum I have had. That said, there some features I wish weren’t so complicated, and a couple of notes I would give:1) the fact that there are features only accessible through the app is disappointing. Changing the mode of cleaning should be accessible on the base2) I wish I could place the robot somewhere and start it immediately, map or no map. With the map, I would hope the robot could locate itself. Without the app, I wish the robot could use its internal sensors to clean and avoid obstacles 3) the fact that the map is not self-editing is kind of annoying. I have lost count of how many times I’ve had to remap because I had a dog bed in the way that I moved, or because a rug was deemed to be the end of the room. Other robots will sense changes and adjust accordingly. This one does not. That said, the sensors are pretty good. The bot gets very close to furniture without hitting it 4) I have an upstairs. Sometimes I bring the base up with me. Other times, I just want it to clean a specific zone, and I have to re-map in order to clean the same floor with and without a base 5) the mop solution. There is only one option. There is no way to use a different solution or your preferred floor cleaner unless you apply it directly to the floor first, which defeats the purpose of convenience6) hair compression. There is no base feature to activate this manually. I just have to hope the machine senses how much dust is in the bin and compresses it first. It does not always do this7) corners: the machine stays a bit too far from the corners. I can see the difference because it cleans so well! 8) the machine tells you when water is low, but doesn’t offer level updates otherwise.9) no option to purchase a second base. I don’t need nor can I afford two of these, but would love to have a base upstairs and a base downstairs so I don’t have to make three trips each time I want to clean either floor with the base.10) does not seem to sense fullness of the dust bag. There’s no indicator on the app, it just suggests ~7 weeks of use. I’ve only had this for a little over 2 weeks, so I’m dreading the moment the bag becomes full as I’m not certain it’s going to tell me and if it overflows, that’s going to be a big mess. I wish there was a running estimate as to how full the dust bag is. This, coupled with the hair compression complaint, means I’m not entirely certain how I’m going to be able to tell when I need to replace this. That said, I was prepared to send this back as I paid quite a bit for it within the 30 days. After day two, I threw the boxes out 😅 As an owner of two shed-heavy dogs, this has been a lifesaver. And it’s so quiet! Additionally, because the base station houses the entire robot, I no longer have to worry about my dog stepping on the robot and turning it on by mistake.

Smartest robot vacuum ever
Took the plunge and bought this for prime day. My husband rolled his eyes at our 5th iteration of a robot vacuum but I had high hopes; and she’s delivered! The box was huge and the base is pretty large as well, but considering it holds the clean and dirty water containers, I guess it has to be.Set up was easy. Had some user error app issues in the beginning getting it set up on the network. I was selecting the wrong model to pair and it wasn’t working. Once I double checked and selected the correct one, set up was easy. After letting her charge overnight, I set it out to do its mapping. I was freaking amazed at how smart it was. Traversed gently over the whole house and made a pretty freaking accurate mapping of the floor plan.Even was able to demarcate rugs from the tile/wood floors all on its own. Once the mapping was done I used the options to split the map into sections so I’d be able to have it clean certain areas/rooms if I wanted. The first test was a full vacuum and it sure took its time. It’s approx 1100 sq ft but it took hours. Looking at the map, it was going over certain areas many times. We have a lab who is in his “shed like crazy” stage. Even though I’d vacuum almost daily, we still would have a lot of hair soon after. The vacuum did a great job.The next day I had it do a vacuum then mop session in just one area of the house that was tile floor. Wanted to see how much water it left behind before letting it wild on the hardwood. But the tile floor was done surprisingly well and there was never puddles of water left behind.Next test was vacuum THEN mop of whole area. This took forever. Almost 6.5 hours when it eventually gave up. That’s okay. As it was doing each of the previous jobs it would refine the map even more. Now I have it set to vacuum and mop simultaneously every weekday. It will do all the non-carpeted areas during this cycle which is pretty much all of it.During the process it will shout from the hill tops repeatedly and and quite a volume when you need to replace the clean water.Only once has it gotten stuck on a cord, which older vacuums seemed to just gravitate to them and get stuck.Battery life is decent. If it does a super deep clean (all on its own it decides how much cleaning an area needs), it may need to recharge mid-session. And I almost always have to replace the water at least once during the process. But I couldn’t be happier. Definitely was worth the price and has been doing a fantastic job.Despite daily cleanings and aforementioned hairy dog, the one small vacuum bag isn’t even filled yet. I’ve ordered more but also have the reusable canister it came with as a fallback should I need it.I love checking the app and seeing the map lines of where it cleaned. Gives an update on how much is done, what areas it focused on and which areas still need to be cleaned. I love a good user interface.

Impressive competitor in a deep robovac product space
Update 2: After an app update, this has been responsive every time I’ve tried it. Back to being a top tier competitor. I’ll check back in a month to see if it’s still running solid, and probably bump that rating up to 5*Update: All the other things in the review are valid, but they seem to be having some issues scaling up the number of devices for their app servers. Support is a lot of repeat information that doesn’t resolve their backend issues. It’s really frustrating to have an expensive bot be stuck behind the cloud based services across the world when they have issues. You can, in theory, run the bot with the buttons from the base station, but only if you want it to do full mopping. I mainly use this for daily vacuuming.Either it’s on their end, or this only lasted 14 service hours and about 8,000 sq ft. I’m pretty sure it’s on their end, as resetting the bot and rejoining to the network was spotty at best with failing to even connect to the bot over bluetooth. Whatever process they have going on that requires talking back to their cloud servers is not reliable, to say the least.I’ve upgraded over the years from a budget 200$ robovac to a name brand 500$ vac, to one with a built in vacuum station ~900$, and now a full on mopping robovac. So far, on an early bird discount, this was worth the money invested. I’m not sure I would consider the full retail price however. You lose 3 stars, because while technically it still works and has great functionality when it does, server issues can take the whole system back to basics for days at a time and there’s no updates or status page to see when it’s their end of the problem.ProsSignificantly quieter than any predecessor. Not quiet enough to comfortably watch TV in the same room with it running, but a few bumps on the volume and you’ll get through it.Significantly smarter than other options. The detection and mapping, not bumping into every wall and object, this works like you might have once dreamed about with other brands.Significantly faster than other options. Part of this is the mapping. Part of it is the lack of bumping everything. This bot knows where it is and where it’s been, it only covers the same spot twice when it detects a need to do so. Other bots take easily 20-30% more time to do the same room.Zero hair management. 2 of 4 people in the household keep rather long hair. Two pets as well doing their part. The no-tangle brush is fantastic. I cannot tell you how many times I would need to go grab an older bot and cut the hair from the brushes, no more with this.Silent vacuum compression. Very quiet mop cleaning cycles. A drastic departure from the 900$ vacuum tower bot that had to suck the soul out of the entire house to empty into a slightly larger bag that still needed replacement eventually.MehsApp doesn’t do much different than other apps I’ve used. It’s perfectly serviceable, not particularly exciting. It does show the bot in close to real-time, which is nice. It does perform a bit slow initially opening it. You can set schedules, although I’m only scheduling vacuuming. Bit clunky setting zones and boundaries, but works well enough. Doesn’t track mid-room objects more than a faint shadow, so your kitchen island or dividing wall might not reflect an obstacle, the bot gets around it just fine.Mopping issues I assume are shared among any other mopping bot. Limited tank capacity means a full house cleaning is limited by swapping fluids halfway through, so no set and forget before you leave the house. It is rather persistent, cleaning some areas more than others, but the dirty water doesn’t lie, so I can’t fault it for trying.ConsThe usual gotcha’s with any home consumer product. You must continue to consume. Proprietary and non-refillable (although I will certainly try) cleaning solution. Internal vacuum bag is designed to be compressed, but then tossed out to be replaced by a brand new one. (although I’ll try to empty and re-use that as well). I understand these are probably the high margin sales opportunities that keeps the company selling products, but the green side of me can’t stand unnecessary waste, particularly plastic that doesn’t need to be tossed in a landfill. I would love to at least recycle the dust bin, or have a method to replace the compressed bags rather than the entire housing.Mopping residue is noticeable and left behind to the point that I’d almost want a whole extra cycle of just clean water, but that’s not really an option. It fades after a day or so, but it does make me wonder if the pets are bothered. They don’t seem to be. This might be a regular feature of mopping bots, but as it’s my first, I’ll rate it as a con.

It’s good
1.Narwal could get closer to the edges imo2.the app didn’t want to save my furniture map I made which was disappointing3. Mopping is amazing but downfall is having to buy their solution4. Customized vacuum mode didn’t recognize my new rug and wanted to just keep cleaning the corner of it but once I put it on normal cleaning it recognized it off the bat and then it popped up on my map that I had a rug5. Set up was amazing6. I love how it goes all the way into the station so me or my children aren’t tripping over it7. I really like how it sanitizes after a vacuum and washes the mops when finished with the job8. My iPhone loses signal from it often, specially when I’m not home which is annoying (“network error. Reconnecting “)9. The look of it is definitely aesthetically pleasing10. Suction the first day on normal felt like it wasn’t picking up as good so I started doing a higher suction power and now it doesn’t miss anything. I like how I can change this option11. I also like how I can have it vacuum and/or mop with a normal spacing or closer to get a nice deep cleaning12. It detects stairs very well, it has never fallen down them13. I enjoy the feature of it coming with disposable trash bin things or using their re-usable one. They provide both for you to tryAll in all, I really love having it in my home but I think it should be a bit cheaper because some of the things discussed above. Around $850 would be good.

Godsend!
This is the greatest thing to ever be made by the hands of man. I have OCD, I like ideal cleanliness in my home. This narwal does for me what I don’t have time to do. It mops, it cleans, it’s smart. You can send it to whatever room you like whenever you like, any time of day. You can schedule to clean your whole house when you’re not home with your choice of how much moppage you want, how squeaky clean or meticulous you want. I can clean my bathroom floor 20 times a day if I so choose! It’s amazing! And it saves me so much time. And then you think, but surely how well can a robot vacuum clean the floor? And I tell you, through experience, better than a person! I decided yesterday after almost 6 months of using this godsend, to wipe my kitchen floor with a paper towel to see how much dust or dirt was there. None! Zero! That paper towel was white as snow after wiping down the whole kitchen! That narwal is amazing. It even gets into the nooks and crannies. I am getting my mom one for Christmas. If you like cleanliness, and you are tired of mopping and vacuuming (it just moves dirt around pretty much when we humans do it) then save your back and get this.FYI: If you have cords and wires on the floor, as I often tend to, yes the narwal may pick it up and wrap it in it’s little whirly brush. Then you just turn it over and unwind it from the whirly brush and try to keep the cords off the floor next time. I have had this happen several times and the narwal just stops what it’s doing until you get the cord out and it’s fine. No big deal. If it happens while I’m at work, when I get home, I take the cord out of the brush and turn the narwal back over and that’s it.

Quiet, logical design and features, but room for improvement
My approach to reviewing products, especially when they come with a hefty price tag, is probably more critical than other reviewers. I have a personal theory that some are afraid to admit they messed up with those large purchases, and go all-in on the praise. I am not, and do not. Enter the Narwal Robo Vac.The bottom line is: The Narwal Freo X Ultra a significant step up from my previous robot vac experiences, particularly with the last Roborock model that couldn’t seem to remember where it was halfway through its cleaning tasks. That one pretty much had a crisis every time it cleaned. The Narwal, impressively addresses many of my past frustrations but adds frustrating app connectivity, gaining it a 3 out of 5 for me.Recommended First Setup Activities:- Take advantage of the provided reusable dust bin over the disposable options for your initial cleaning. This will help you to preserve your maintenance supplies for long-term use.- Create clear paths near walls to aid the vac in accurate initial mapping. E.g., pull out that larger furniture the vac can’t get underneath.- Designate your flooring type in the settings (particularly for tile floors) after mapping to ensure the vac applies the correct cleaning pressure. This will result in a better clean.- Opt for a “x2” mopping pass within customized room settings for a more thorough clean. This will result in varied patterns for consistent cleaning coverage.- Consider setting the drying mode to “smart” to avoid the sanitary issues noted in reviews of previous models. This mode strikes a balance between extra quietness at night and efficiency during the day.The Good:- The operation is notably quiet, even on carpets. It’s the first vac I can run at night without causing a significant disturbance.- It demonstrates remarkable adaptability and efficiency, even after adjustments to my home’s furniture and obstacle layout. I haven’t managed to trick it yet.- Smart mapping notably avoids re-mapping your home when asked to take a best guess at its current location. See: Roborock.- The ease of setting a custom cleaning order for different rooms is a standout feature, a functionality my previous $850 vacuum lacked. The Bad:- Challenges in recognizing certain architectural features, even some interior walls, have left me with limited mapping accuracy. My kitchen island and an ‘L” shaped wall with two openings at either end, both refuse to show up as permanent objects on my home’s map. The missing island has no significant impact, while the missing wall means I cannot split the room where I want. The app gives me an error when I try.- A rigidly fixed route to the dock could potentially cause wear on area rugs over time – especially as it needs to return multiple times for each room when mopping. This despite a much shorter path being available about 20% of the time the vac returns to the doc.- Running the vac still requires manual clearing of cords and small objects to prevent entanglements, though it has managed to avoid ingesting anything prohibited so far. The tri-laser system is good, but is largely only effective for objects about 2”x2” or bigger, hence the promo videos showing avoidance of large toys and shoes.- The most glaring issue so far is the connectivity of the app, presumably to the cloud controller software. If you can’t access the vac because it simply says “loading” or “server connectivity problem,” then you can’t use it.The Quirky:- The absence of a detailed manual or online instructions has left me puzzled over certain functions – like the “map again” function (would it find lost walls, or start completely over and erase all my customizations?). Perhaps Narwal will add one to their web site at some point, but I did not receive more than a quick-start guide in my box.- Important status indicators, such as clean/dirty water levels, are inconveniently buried in the app rather than on the leading dashboard.- The vac’s fast speed during mopping could potentially disrupt light sleepers. You can likely fix this if it becomes an issue by setting some [limited] options to limit noise. E.g., setting the higher pressure for tiles and “meticulous” mode slowed mine down enough that it doesn’t rumble over grout gaps.- Occasionally, the vac exhibits inefficient (but still effective!) cleaning routines. I just witnessed mine returning to the base for pad cleaning mid-task, return to its previous room for less than 30 seconds, and then return to clean the pads again before moving on to the next room. This is a setting in the app to clean the pads between rooms, but I don’t have it enabled.- Additionally, sending the vac to an incorrect room and immediately correcting the mistake also prompts an unnecessary return to the dock to clean pads before proceeding with the correct room. Just a bit strange here.- Disrupting the pad drying to clean the dust bin means canceling the drying operation outright. There is no resume at this point – only start washing and drying over.Additional Insights:- It’s beneficial to consider app reviews alongside product reviews. My initial experiences with app connectivity issues have been similar to those reported by other users. These have not impacted the vac’s operational performance if you’re lucky enough to get it started first, but as of this writing the app has been unable to connect for the past 6 hours. It’s possible this is largely due to strong new-user demand on their systems, but the app store reviews shoe this is an ongoing issue for at least a year.Wrap Up:All in all, the Narwal Robo Vac has made my life easier and far less frustrating than its predecessor. It’s smart, quiet, and does a pretty solid job cleaning. It has its quirks, but most can be resolved in software. I assume they can add more compute resources to improve connectivity, but time will tell, and I will follow up if the app-behavior improves. I will also keep an eye on how it holds up over time, especially with pets and a busy house, and supplies. So far, cleaning is good when it lets you clean. Here’s hoping it gets better.

spotless floor again
I finally pulled the trigger on upgrading my T10 to Freo X Ultra. For 3 years, I used 2 different robots to keep my house clean: 1 Shark robovac for vacuuming and 1 T10 for mopping. Even though T10 could also vacuum, its dust bin was small and I would had to physically swap out vacuum/mop module. Plus, Shark was the only bagless dust bin. Others at that time required recurring purchase of disposable bags.Shark ran every morning at 3am to vacuum the kitchen, living room and hallway. Then T10 mopped those rooms at 4am. They kept my house free from fur bunnies created by my shiba. Thanked to them, my kiddos were able to crawl/walk on clean floor.Fast forward to 2024, we were convinced to replace our 2 robots with just the Freo X Ultra for quite a list of compelling reasons after seeing its unit at CES2024:-space saving: instead of having 2 robots with dedicated tasks. Freo X Ultra can perform them all without physically swapping out any parts. I can select vacuum only, mop only, vacuum then mop or vacuum and mop simultaneously.-mop till it’s clean: with T10, I can only schedule it to mop a room a maximum of 3 times. Freo X Ultra has dirt sense technology which senses how dirty the floor is and pretty much mops till it’s clean. With my 1st run on Freo X Ultra, it mopped my kitchen 4 times. Everyone was delighted being able to walk bare feet again on clean floor.-anti-tangled brush: even though Shark advertised its robot to have this ability, my hair was wrapped around the brush quite often. With Freo X ultra, I have not found my hair wrapped around its brush at all for the last 2 weeks since ownership.-disposable dust bag with compression ability: Narwal claims that dust can stay in that bag for up to 7 or 8 weeks. It’s been 2 weeks, and I haven’t replaced it yet. I will also try its dust bin after I run out of disposable ones. Freo x ultra has a much larger dust bin compartment than T10. I will test this later and report back how long dust can stay in there before I have to dump it out.-auto detergent dispenser: lemon & basil scent is such a nice choice for detergent. I love this smell more than T10’s detergent sheets.-ability to indicate type of floor: this way, freo x ultra can adjust its mopping heads’ pressure for most optimal cleaning.1 thing to note about why Narwal doesn’t follow the trend to add auto empty dust bins like its competitors (Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra and Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo). I chatted with Narwal’s rep at CES, and they seemed to prioritize their resources elsewhere (dirt sense tech, edge clean, anti-tangled brush, compression dust bags etc). In their research, they found that those machines have a common issue with clogged pipes. Maybe that was why my Shark wasn’t performing as its best anymore since it does have auto empty dust bin.Anyway, I am happy with my decision to upgrade from T10 to Freo X Ultra. 5 stars!!!!

Oh wow. A robot that actually works!
Ok, I’ve had this one for a week. So I’ll update in a couple months if things change. But….This is awesome. I owned a Roomva iRobot for the last two years. The kicker with them was when I needed customer service over a dust bin in the unit, and i was 1 week out of warranty/return for it because I bought it, put it aside until I really needed it, and when I finally instaled it, found it to be the wrong item. They told me to buy a new one of the right one and to bug off otherwise. iRobot’s cleaning power was also substandard, mine being a pet vac, that left pet hair all over the corners of the room. So, I’ve had 2 years experience with a robot vac.The Narwal cleans most excellently. Once in a while a piece of hair will get stuck in the back wheel and come off when it is travelling back and forth, but otherwise, perfect. The robot auto-detects floor type, changing from mopping to not (and raising the mops) when moving to a carpet. Setting room areas and types is very simple. It has settings for tile, hardwood and carpet, as well as general (it figures it out). You can set no-go zones very easily. You can even define a room as a pass-thru to get from one room to another that you are mopping, but the room in middle you don’t want dealt with.It detects obstacles so well. One time my son was in its way as it was on it’s way to a room to clean and he wasn’t going to move. It stopped about 9-12 inches away from him, then took a path around him. The Roomba would always be bumping into walls and furnature (softly, but still) to determine the extent of a room, but he Narwall has built-in optics and can detect obstacles before it hits them. So it doesn’t bump the walls and furnature, but gets right up close to vacuum or mop the edges with accuracy. And even here, when it mops at the edges of a wall, it has a mode to move, swivel, move so that the mop brushes get right up the edge and clean very, very well.It also detects if an area is extra dirty, for which it will mop that area/room 2x, 3x even 4x (if this is the fist time for a really dirty area — say a bathroom or laundry). After it mops so many square feet, or after a room (settable featured) the Narwal will go back and wash the mop heads to avoid cross-contamination of the dirt (very useful if coming from a bathroom, if you know what I mean). When complete, it cleans its mops and dries them. Sound can be set to quiet (takes longer) or strong (quicker, but louder) — and at any level is not all that loud (compared to the Roomba emptying its dirt bin every 10 minutes with a 99 db vacuum!!).Yes, this is a $1,000 unit, and I had to think a few times before spending that much. But it is worth every penny. My only work is in keeping the dirty water disposed of, and the clean water bin full. (If you set the robot on room mode — washing mop heads by room — then it isn’t that bad; leave it by area (smaller) and you will need to be present as the water likely will run out in the middle of the total task). So, that’s my 1 week estimate. I’ll come back in a few months to confirm or deny my initial findings. Right now: I love this thing!!

Does NOT avoid Dog droppings
Second time my Narwal has smeared crap all over my carpet. I’ve had to take apart the vacuum to clean it because it’s $1K I’m not throwing this away! But, seriously they need to stop advertising that it will go around, because it will not.Culprit photographed.Other than that. I love this thing! I have it scheduled to do the whole house while we’re sleeping and again in the morning after I’ve left for work. Is such a time saver!

Motorhome Use with High-shedding Dog
We currently live full-time in a motorhome with our high shedding dog. We got “Buddy” to help keep up with the fur/dirt. My husband programmed Buddy’s route and he does a great job! It’s so easy – vacuums, dumps, mops, dumps. We’re looking forward to using him in our new home. Definitely get what you’re paying for!

Works great (most of the time)
95% of the time, it works as expected. You send it off to clean… and it does it. Once in a while, it will go into a room.. turn around.. and go back to the base and say task completed. I then have to send it back in.. sometimes twice.. before it works. The voice control only seems to work for the whole house, at least for me. Overall its great. The mopping works great too. Floors are nice and clean, and I dont have to lift a finger. ***Make sure you empty the dirty water often! I waited a few weeks once and wow did it stink!
